Crafting Activities:

  • Paint Your Own Unicorn
What better way to kit off a party than with a painting activity. With this wood paint kit, your guests can decorate their very own unicorn that they can take home when the party is finished. Every time they look at their painting, they will be reminded of how much fun the party was.
  • Make Your Own Unicorn
Your guests will love creating their very own unicorns. To make the unicorns, start with a base of either a toilet paper roll or a paper plate. Set out some construction paper, string, glue, and any other crafting materials you may have and watch as the unicorns come to life.

  • Make Your Own Unicorn Horns
To make your own unicorn horns, set out some plain headbands and some construction paper. Use the construction paper to make horns, ears, flowers, and whatever else your unicorn may need.
  • Make Your Own Wand
Do your unicorns need a wand for the birthday celebrations? Help them create one using dowel rods, construction paper, and any other crafting supplies you may have.

If you plan to send your guests home with a favor bag, then why not let them decorate the bag themselves. Purchase some plain favor bags, set out some colors, construction paper, glue, and whatever other crafting material you have and watch as your custom unicorn bags are made for you.
  • Make Some Unicorn Slime
Making slime is always a hit with children. To make it unicorn slime all you need to do is swirl different rainbow colors together and then add some sparkles or magical confetti. Check out this post by The Best Ideas for Kids for a great slime recipe.

Physical Activities:

  • Pin the Horn on the Unicorn
A simple twist on pin the tail on the donkey, this game just requires a picture of a unicorn, some paper horns, and a blindfold. Put your picture on the wall, blind fold the player, spin them around, and then let them try to find the right spot for the horn. If you don’t want to make your own, check out Amazon listing.
  • Unicorn Scavenger Hunt
If you have plenty of good hiding spots in your house or back yard, then a unicorn scavenger hunt is a perfect game for the little ones. Hide sparkly or unicorn themed items around your party and create a map with the hidden location of each or let the kids find them on their own.
  • Ring Toss
A ring toss is another classic game that can be adapted to your unicorn themed party. Instead of tossing rings around a bottle, toss your rings towards a unicorn and try to hook your ring on its horn.
  • Unicorn Dance Party
Every good party has to have good music. Let your guests show off their movies as they dance to unicorn themed music.
  • Unicorn Footsteps
Just like red light green light, have your guests try to sneak up on the player that’s “it”. When that player turns around, all the other guests have to freeze in a unicorn pose. If your caught moving, your out!
  • Unicorn Freeze Tag
Start up a game of freeze tag and let your guests chase each other around to their hearts’ consent. Give the player that’s “it” a unicorn horn so everyone knows who’s looking to freeze them.
  • Balloon Pop
Give every player a unicorn horn to wear on their head and let them try to pop some balloons with it. Inside each balloon you can add glitter, confetti or other surprises that will rain down once popped.
  • Unicorn Horn Stacking
Break out your favorite stack-able treat and have your guests attempt to stack as many of them on their forehead as possible. Whoever makes the tallest unicorn horn wins.
  • Pass the Parcel
For this game, create a giant ball using plastic wrap and hide little toys or candy inside as you go. Pass the parcel around a circle and have your guests try to unwrap as much as they can before their turn is over. You can set a certain time limit, start and stop a song, or have the next person roll dice until they hit a certain number to indicate when the turn is over. Have whoever is unwrapping the ball wear a unicorn horn so everyone knows whose turn it is.

Creative activities:

  • Face Painting
Little kids love getting their face painted, especially if it means they get to become their favorite mythical creature. While getting a face painter for a party is a great idea, it also can be done on your own. Have an adult at the party give it a try or even let the children paint each other’s faces.
  • Adopt a Unicorn
If you plan to send your guests home with a unicorn, then make sure you provide them with an adoption certificate. Let them get creative with naming their new pet and maybe even creating a biography for the unicorn. Check out this Amazon listing for unicorns that come with a certificate and their very own carry case.

  • Coloring Pages
If you need some quiet time during your party, coloring pages are always a great option. You can find many options for free online that you can print out at home. Provide some colors, markers, and maybe even some stickers and you have hours of entertainment.
