Games:

  • Car Ramp Racing
Create a show stopping race car ramp for your guests to race their cars down. To make your wooden ramp, follow this very simple tutorial by The Homes I Have Made. Make sure to add as many rows on the ramp as possible so that all your guests can race at once! For the cars, you can use some Hot Wheels or let your guests create their own custom cars with these Wooden Cars that they can paint and decorate however they’d like.

  • Car Foot Racing
A great way to get your guests moving is by hosting a foot race. Set up a start and finish line and watch as your guests try to outrun each other. To really make this game car themed, decorate your track with some Black and White Checkered Flags and make racecars out of cardboard boxes for your guests to wear. You can also have a small racing trophy for the winner.
  • Pin the Wheel on the Car
Challenge your guests to a game of pin the wheel on the racecar. This car themed twist on a classic game is easy to set up and even easier to play. Just tape up a picture of a racecar to the wall and then let your blindfolded guests try to pin a wheel to it. Whoever gets the closest is the winner! For a printable version of this game, check out this Pin the Wheel on the Racecar listing.
  • Traffic Light Bean Bag Toss
Set out some red, yellow, and green baskets for a traffic light bean bag toss! Line them up in order from red to green so that they will look just like a traffic light. To make the game more interesting, assign each basket points based on how far away they are. Whoever gets the most points at the end is the winner. To really tie into your theme, use these Black and White Checkered Bean Bags.

  • Tire Pinata
What is a party without a pinata? For a car themed party, options include Tire Wheel Pinatas and Race Car Pinatas. You can also opt for a Checkered Number Pinata to show off your child’s age.
  • Red Light, Green Light
Red Light, Green Light is a great party game that would be a perfect fit among your car birthday activities. For this game, one person will be chosen to call out the lights. They will stand in front of all the other guests and call out red or green light. When the green light is called all the guests will run towards a finish line. When red is called everyone must stop. Anyone still moving is out! What makes this game so great is that there is no set up or supplies needed.
  • Traffic Cone Ring Toss
Create a classic ring toss game but with traffic cones instead. Set up these 7 Inch Orange Traffic Cones and let your guests throw their rings at them. Whoever can get the most rings around the cones is the winner.

Crafts:

  • Car Paint Shop

  • Paper Plate Steering Wheels
Turn your guests into race car drivers by helping them create their very own steering wheels. To make them, just take a paper plate and cut three sections out of the inside of the plate. Your guests can then decorate them however they want. Once finished, they can zoom around with their new wheel.
  • Paper Plate Car Crafting
Another way you can use paper plates at your party is by turning them into cars! Just take a regular paper plate, cut out a window on the inside of the plate, cut the bottom of the plate off, and then add some construction paper wheels and headlights. You guests can then decorate them however they want.

  • Paper Tube Car Crafting
Another car craft that you can do with your guests is a paper tube car. To make them, just have your guests cut out a hole in the tube for a seat and then add some wheels. For your wheels, you can use construction paper, buttons, pouch caps, or any other round objects that you have on hand. If you want them to be able to actually roll around, try poking skewers through the tubes to make axles and then attaching some wooden wheels to them.
  • Traffic Cone Party Hats
If you’d like to have some party hats for your guests, then have them create their own that look just like traffic cones. To make these hats, have your guests cut out a cone shape from construction paper as if they were making a regular party hat. Then, have them cut out a square with a hole inside of it that is big enough for their head. Attach these two pieces together and in no time your guests will look like they are part of the race track.
  • Make Your Own Traffic Signs
Have you guests design their very own traffic signs with bright orange and yellow construction paper, scissors, and markers. Your guests can cut out their paper into whatever shape they want and then add some car themed phases to their signs. They can then take these signs home as a fun party souvenir.
