Invitation

First impressions are always important, and the first impression anyone will have of your party will be through the invitation. This makes picking out your invitation an important part of your party planning. One of my favorite places to look for invitations is through Etsy. There are hundreds of different styles to choose from and the templates are all customizable. Invitations to choose from feature astronauts, the planets, and galaxy backgrounds. Check out these invitations which can be customized for any age.

Decorations

What is a party without decorations? Backdrops, table cloths, centerpieces, and balloons can all be customized into a galactic masterpiece. These ideas will help you create an out of this world party. 

  • Space Themed Customizable Backdrop
    A backdrop can be made from many things including a galaxy table cloth, a sparkly sheet, or a customized party banner. Check out this “Houston We Have A One Year Old” Banner by The Modern Store Front. 
  • Lantern Table Center Pieces
    A great addition to your tables is a space themed center piece. You can create these center pieces yourself by cutting some star and moon shapes into a roll of construction paper and then placing a tealight behind them.

  • Balloon Archway
    A balloon archway is becoming a classic for birthday parties. They look great when framing a backdrop and the extra balloons are lots of fun for littles to play with.   • Paper Pom Poms for Planets

  • Paper Lantern Planets
    Paint some paper lanterns to look just like the planets. You can then hang them from the ceiling to make your guests feel like they are traveling through the solar system.

  • Moon and Star Confetti 
    To give your party some extra sparkle, just sprinkle some confetti on top of your tables. Check out this Moon and Star Confetti to match the rest of your decorations.

  • Create Your Own Planets from Tealights and Ping Pong Balls
    Have your guests paint a ping pong ball and then place it on top of an electric tealight to create a spectacular glowing planet.

  • Astronaut Space Training
    Let your guests enter a space training academy by setting up obstacle courses for them. Once successfully completed, you can hand out astronaut certificates.

  • Moon Sand Play
