Little Love Bug on the Way! – 35 Baby Shower Ideas

If you’re throwing a love bug themed baby shower, then check out this list of 35 ideas that will surely inspire you. These ideas include invitations, decorations, activities, foods, and party favors to ensure every aspect of your shower is bursting with little love bugs.

Invitation:

First impressions are always important, and the first impression anyone will have of your baby shower will be through the invitation. This makes picking out your invitation an important part of your party planning. One of my favorite places to look for invitations is through Etsy. There are hundreds of different styles to choose from and the templates are all customizable. For a love bug theme, invitations can feature lady bugs, butterflies, dragonflies, wildflowers, or mushrooms.

Decorations:

What is a party without decorations? Backdrops, table cloths, centerpieces, and balloons can all be used to transform your party into a bug filled meadow.

  • Our Little Love Bug Backdrop
If you want the perfect spot for your guest to pose in front of, then hang up a customizable banner. This Little Love Bug Banner features wildflowers, bugs and your name and shower date. Another option is this Lady Bug Banner that is filled with ladybugs and flowers. Surround your banner with balloons, ribbons, or flowers for a professional background.
  • Themed Plates
For your tableware, check out this Wildflower and Butterfly Shower Plate Set. This plate set includes two different sized plates and is the perfect choice for an elegant party. If your bug themed party is solely focused on lady bugs though, you can opt for some Spotted Ladybug Plates.
  • Floral Tablecloths
If you like the plates mentioned above, then make sure to get the matching Wildflower Table Clothes. You can also opt for some Gingham Patterned Tablecloths to give the party a more rustic feel.
  • Butterfly in a Bowl Centerpieces
Incorporate bugs into your centerpieces by placing some in glass bowls with rocks, moss, flowers, and any other decorations that fit your theme. These DIY centerpieces are so cute and very easy to make.

Some tasks you can include in your race are changing a baby doll’s diaper, folding baby clothes, and assembling a baby bottle.
  • Pollen Drop Race
Another fast paced game is a pollen drop race. Have your guests pick up little balls of pollen (cotton balls) and balance them on a spoon. They will have to carry the pollen all the way to the bee’s beehive (a bowl) without dropping it. Whoever can get the most pollen to the beehive within the time limit you set is the winner.
