38 Ideas for a Mamma to Bee Baby Shower

If you’re throwing a bee themed baby shower for a mamma to bee, then check out this list of 38 ideas that will surely inspire you. These ideas include invitations, decorations, activities, foods, and party favors to ensure every aspect of your party is a buzzing bee bash.

Invitation:

First impressions are always important, and the first impression anyone will have of your baby shower will be through the invitation. This makes picking out your invitation an important part of your party planning. One of my favorite places to look for invitations is through Etsy. There are hundreds of different styles to choose from and the templates are all customizable. Check out this bee themed invitation and the matching bundle.

Decorations:

What is a party without decorations? Backdrops, table cloths, centerpieces, and balloons can all be used to transform your party into a bumble bee hive.

  • Honeycomb Shelving
Use Honey Comb Selves to place deserts, party favors, or gifts on. You can even fill them up with flowers to create an eye-catching display. For a budget friendly option, consider making your own honey comb shelves out of Popsicle sticks. This video by Dyartorin Crafts will show you how.

  • Honeycomb Wall Stickers
If you don’t want to have an actual shelf for your honeycomb display, then consider cutting out yellow hexagons and taping them in a honeycomb pattern on the wall. These honeycombs will look just as nice and won’t take up any table space.
  • Beehive Centerpieces
Check out these Beehive Vases that would make perfect centerpieces for your tables. You can also try to DIY your own version by wrapping a glass vase in jute cord and placing a black cloth in the middle for the entrance. Complete they look by gluing on some bees and flowers.
  • Honeycomb Table Runners
Make your own table runners by gluing together Popsicle stickers into honey comb shapes. Arrange these honey combs in a line, glue them together, and then spray paint them whatever color you like. You can then place these “table runners” along the length of your tables for an easy DIY decoration.
  • Yellow and White Flower Arrangements
Having flowers at a bee themed party just makes sense. Use yellow and white flowers to stay within your color pallet. For the yellow flowers, consider using sunflowers, dahlias, goldenrod, or craspedias. For the white flowers, use baby’s breath, gerpoms, dahlias, and carnations. And remember, a great bouquet focuses on a few larger flowers with smaller accent flowers used as filler.

  • Bee Themed Plates
Check out this HoneycombTableware Set. It comes with two different sized plates, cups, utensils, napkins, a table cloth, and bees buzzing throughout them all. If you plan on revealing the gender of the baby at the party, then these Bee Themed Plates with the phrase “He or She Who Will You Bee” would be perfect.
  • Honey Bee Balloons
For an inexpensive honey bee decoration, turn some regular yellow balloons into buzzing bees. Just use a black sharpie to paint eyes and stripes on the balloon. You can even draw a stinger on the back and some white construction paper wings.
  • Beehive Paper Lanterns
Create hanging beehives from yellow painting lanterns to scatter throughout your party. To make the lantern into a convincing beehive, paint yellow honey dripping from the top and add bees to the outside.

Another option is to use these Bee Letter Wooden Food Boards and alternate your colored fruits for each letter.
  • Bee Stripped Deviled Eggs
Deviled eggs are a fun bite sized treat that would fit perfectly at a bee themed party, especially when you give them bumble bee stripes. To make the stripes, cut a black olive into strips and then place them in bars along the yellow of the deviled egg. For a classic deviled egg recipe, check out this article by Downshiftology

  • He or She, Who Will You Bee

They will have to carry the pollen all the way to the bee’s beehive (a bowl) without dropping it. Whoever can get the most pollen to the beehive within the time limit is the winner.
  • Hive Mind
Ask your guests different questions and see who answers in the majority. An example question could be “Let baby nap when they are ready or have a set nap schedule.” It’s always interesting to see how people think and it can even give the mamma to bee some reassurance knowing that there is no set way when it comes to parenting.
  • Decorate a Bee Themed Onesie
Set out some White Onesies and let your guests get creative by decorating them. For a bee themed shower, have your guests incorporate bees into their design. This game will bring out your guest’s creative side and remind you of them every time your new baby wears the onesie made just for them.
